The Thermo Scientific Nicolet 8700 FT-IR spectrometer performs advanced FT-IR spectroscopy experiments including step-scan. Step-scan eliminates Fourier modulation interference encountered in the conventional, continuous-scan FT-IR and allows measurements to be made as an explicit function of time, phase, or space. Typical applications of step-scan FT-IR can be classified into two primary categories: time-resolved spectroscopy (TRS) for studying fast kinetic processes, and phase-resolved spectroscopy (PRS) for modulation experiments.

The Agilent 1200 Series evaporative light scattering detector (ELSD) is a powerful tool for sensitive detection of any compound that is less volatile than the mobile phase. It provides an essentially universal measurement under isocratic and gradient conditions independent of a compound’s absorbance, fluorescence or electro-activity. Low temperature evaporation technology enables detection of semi-volatile and thermally-sensitive compounds at low levels.
