The software is designed to overcome the problems traditionally associated with the inadequate depth of field for imaging 3-dimensional specimens, by allowing a composite, perfectly focused image to be produced. This is achieved by combining the focused parts from a series of images focused at different heights on the specimen to form an in-focus composite.
An automated dry film thickness measurement station has been developed by NDSU to measure the thickness of coatings deposited onto our array panels. The system is outfitted with a Fischerscope MMSTM system with measurement probes for both aluminum and steel substrates. The thickness data is automatically up loaded to a central database and is accessible through a web portal. This system is valuable in the long-term study of self-polishing ablative coatings since the same measurement points can be consistently read from day to day and month to month.
The AIS-IV Camera™ is a high-resolution video traffic camera for the Autoscope machine vision processors; Autoscope RackVision Terra and Autoscope RackVision Pro 2. The AIS Camera has a built-in zoom lens and color imager with high sensitivity to ensure accurate vehicle detection at night. It minimizes streaking and blooming from bright light sources that could adversely affect detection performance.
The Axioscop 2 research microscope from Zeiss uses the short path length of its designed epicondenser to give brighter fluorescence and hence greater sensitivity. The high-resolution optics with good clarity enhance the information presented on slides and contribute further to the brightness, whilst the quick and easy switchover between brightfield and fluorescence gives greater convenience and faster screening. Space is provided for a broad range of filter systems for multi- labelling, transmission from UV to near IR and the flexibility to use new fluorochromes as they become available.
The GenePix 4000B Microarray Scanner acquires data at a selected resolution between 5-100 microns, allowing the adjustment of image resolution and file size for each Cy3/Cy5 experiment. It has expanded sample compatibility, with user-adjustable focus offset and laser power settings, allowing for proper imaging of slides with either a raised surface, as with membrane-coated glass, or a recessed surface, as in embedded arrays.
BIOMIC V3 is an open system utilizing digital imaging to automate the reading and interpretation of clinical microbiology tests and QC from various manufacturers. Systems are customized with optional modules including antibiotic susceptibility, organism identification, 96-well microtiter, and colony counting.
BIOMIC V3 provides a digital record of test results and high resolution images. An LIS/LIMS interface combined with bar code reading and touch-screen entry on a 21 inch monitor offers labs an optimal setup to standardize, record and report test results.

C-Cell – A food structure image analysis instrument:
C-Cell enables food manufacturers to evaluate aerated food by taking a sample snapshot, for example a slice of bread or a piece of cake so that the internal or external features can be analyzed for information on its cellular structure. Data relating to size, shape and location of cells aid in establishing a blueprint for future production.
The C-Cell instrument was developed and manufactured in the UK by Calibre Control International and is used globally within the food industry to objectively analyze baked products to:
The Cary 5000 is a high performance UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometer with superb photometric performance in the 175-3300 nm range. Using a PbSmart detector, the Cary 5000 extends its NIR range to 3300 nm making it a powerful tool for materials science research. Controlled by the Cary WinUV software, a modular Windows-based software, makes it easy to perform powerful analysis and control a number of optional accessories. The large sample compartment can be expanded to hold large accessories and integrating spheres for spectral and diffuse reflectance.
