Highly Accelerated Stress Test (HAST) Chamber (vendor: ESPEC, model EHS-211M)
HAST exposes assemblies to 85% relative humidity at 100 °C, at up to 4 atm pressure. This drives moisture into organic packaging structures and triggers ionic corrosion.

The extensograph is designed to measure the balance of the elastic and viscous properties of dough. The curve gives a measure of the resistance to extension and the extensibility of the dough. Dough is mixed in the farinograph, rounded, and molded into a cylinder. The cylinder of dough is placed in the extensigraph cradle and allowed to rest. At the end of the rest period the cradle containing the dough is placed in the instrument and the dough is stretched at a constant rate with a hook. The height of the resulting curve is related to the dough’s resistance-to-extension.

Melting Furnaces. The wide temperature range will allow the melting of most non-ferrous metals used in casting and some grey iron up to class 30 or 35.  These units have a temperature range of 1200° to 2400° F and are designed to melt as rapidly as possible. In the school shop or industrial foundry, these units have an immediate and profitable application. They cover nearly the entire range of modern melting needs.

Dimple grinding offers a fast and reliable mechanical method of pre-thinning to near electron transparency (in some cases to electron transparency) greatly reducing ion milling times and uneven thinning.  Dimple grinding also offers a means of producing quality TEM specimens having a large central area only a few microns thick surrounded by a robust outer rim. This eliminates special handling techniques for fragile specimens.
